Malaysian’s General Election 2008

The general election 2008.

The result? Shocking.

I’m so not into politics nor do I ever care. As long as I don’t see ‘wars’, and living peacefully, I’m fine with it. However, I can’t help but gasp at tonight’s shocking result. Mom was very shocked and pissed. BN (Barisan National) has always been the strong party.. however tonight, BN seems to lose its ‘throne’ to the opposition. O.o; Some of the most shocking tonight are these;

“After 36 years of continuous rule, the Barisan Nasional lost the Penang Government to the loose alliance of DAP, PKR and Pas tonight.”

“A shocked Chief Minister Tan Sri Dr Koh Tsu Koon, who conceded the Barisan Nasional defeat to the opposition, said he did not expect the coalition to lose in 11 of the 13 parliamentary seats and at least 30 of the 40 state seats.”

And this one about my state (hometown);

“Opposition grabs 30 seats in Perak shock win to form next government”

Oh it’s not over.. what about this one, the most shocking one out of all;

“It was the most unexpected defeat for one who had defended his seat successfully since 1974. The sudden loss of his traditional parliamentary constituency of Sungai Siput tonight came as a devastating shock to Datuk Seri S. Samy Vellu so much so that the MIC supremo, upon learning of defeat, made a quick exit from the Dewan Konvensyen Sungai Siput where he was waiting with his close aides for the impending result.”

And what about the state where I’m at?

“Selangor has fallen into opposition hands following the loss of at least 35 states seats out of 56. Parti keadilan Rakyat is expected to announce its secretary general Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim, as the new Selangor Menteri Besar.”

Eh.. so much more.. I just can’t load the news site because of the too much traffic overflow. But anyways, everything is shocking. To suddenly see them lose for the first time in my life is shocking. I have the feeling tomorrow it’ll be even more shocking as the news is confirmed and spread around. Don’t sue me because I didn’t vote (I’d have to go back to my hometown to vote if I had registered before lol)….. but I hope people didn’t make a mistake. I don’t want to say much because I don’t want to get sued o.O; But yeah.. people have chosen.. I have nothing else to say.
