Going to KL Today!

September 5, 2014 at 2:38 AM

yay-penguinsI am going to KL today, yay.

I seriously need to start working on my blog again. I’ve been depressed for a long time so I haven’t had the mood to blog, but late last month, just days before Malaysia’s independence day celebration, I’ve managed to temporarily solve some of my major problems that’s been bugging me for a long time. Apart from that, I’m also reviving my online business so I hope everything goes well.

Because of that, I could finally take a trip down to KL. It’s been a long time but you know, I’ve been short on financial, and the last time I went to KL was a few days after my birthday this year I think. It was February. It would be awesome to go if it was holiday season right now. I just LOVE seeing the christmas decorations at the shopping malls. Best part of the trip. I’ll make sure I’ll make a trip to KL during this year’s holiday season.

I’m going alone today by train, then I’ll meet up with my friend in KL. Luckily you can buy train tickets online now, otherwise I don’t know what to do if I failed to get my tickets today (it was raining heavily earlier). I checked the train that I will be taking tomorrow, and the train for my return trip is almost completely full! It’s no surprise it’ll be full since tomorrow is Friday. No wonder last time I tried to buy my ticket as soon as I reached KL was unsuccessful. Fully booked they said. I ended up going home on a special train with interior exactly like LRT train.

It was a special train and even that was so crowded. Free seating, and the seats were extremely limited. I was one of the earliest to board, but I didn’t know you could have the normal ‘chair’ seating at different coach so I ended up seating on LRT-like seats. I was so happy to get a seat but when I realized I could’ve gotten the normal, comfortable seat if I had checked other coach, I instantly felt retarded. Imagine having to sit through that for 2 1/2 hours from KL Sentral to Ipoh! My butt and my spine were pissed at me. And imagine if there were old people and pregnant ladies… yikes. It was also hell that I kept dozing off because I was extremely tired, so my neck was aching for days. Not only that, I had the stupid cheap headphones that didn’t work properly and couldn’t block the noises.

Worst train trip ever.

A Fun Day Trip to KL For A RedBox Karaoke Session

February 22, 2012 at 1:30 PM

I went back to KL/PJ yesterday for a day trip. I went there to see my friends, one of them is about to leave to London again. I miss hanging out and just wasting time walking in shopping malls with that girl. <3

I had a lot of problems planning my trip. It’s because I thought my uncle has gone to KL already and I have no one to send and pick me up to the train station. Taking a cab is SO EXPENSIVE. RM15 for a trip to my house that’s just a few minutes away? No way. So it was a tough time planning until night-time when my uncle finally called and he said he didn’t go to KL. Yay. And he’s willing to help pick me up. So that’s settled when another problem appeared – train tickets. Luckily I went to buy the tickets at 7 am for the 8.30am train and it was available. I also booked a return trip ticket for 5.35 pm. So everything is settled. Off I went to KL!

Of course I went with the ETS train. I got a window seat on coach A.

OMG the ETS train finally stopped playing Tom & Jerry on repeat! They played one of my favorite childhood movies ever – Little Giants! Too bad I couldn’t see clearly from where I was and there was no sound.. the last time I was on ETS train was April 2011 I think.. it was almost a year ago.

My meal on the train 😀 I haven’t had their ‘nasi lemak’ in ages.. I loved it. Particularly because the chicken rendang is just meat, no bones.. and it was delicious. Expensive meal, but delicious. The meal cost me RM8 something. It’s okay. It’s been one year since I last had the ‘nasi lemak’ so what the hell.

I reached KL Sentral at 10.35am, straight away took the RapidKL LRT to Taman Bahagia, then took at cab to The Curve which cost me only RM8 😀 I was supposed to meet my friends for a karaoke session at 11.30am but I reached there at 11.10 am which was surprisingly earlier than I expected! I went to Daiso for a bit, bought some stuff then rushed to RedBox.

They had the special lunch hour rate which includes set lunch for RM12++ per person so that was really affordable! We had this HUGE room for 3 people which was really nice. We had ample space for dancing haha

We had this creamy spaghetti (carbonara?) that came with a gigantic plate and lots of chicken, mushroom and prawns. It was really delicious. My friends ordered lychee drinks while I had the orange drink.

I didn’t take many pics because we dimmed the room dark, and my phone was on low battery so I had to leave it to charge. My friend started singing and it was quite awkward at first but once we got the groove on, oh man did we all go crazy. I think due to the song selections which we mixed with oldschool 90s and latest hits, and the room sounds like a club, we started dancing like crazy haha. It was so much fun! I haven’t had this much fun in ages! Also turns out we had the room from 12pm to 3 pm instead of 2 pm we thought at first, which gave us a lot of time to sing and dance and go crazy! I love these girls. It’s a fresh and nice change of atmosphere from my stuck up pretend goodie two shoes colleagues at work.

I was singing my lungs out until I got sore throat and almost lost my voice. Had to really release all the stress. Total bill came up to around RM41..so technically it was RM14 per person. Not bad at all for 3 hours of unlimited songs inclusive lunch! Alas, at 3 pm we had to leave. Said goobye to my friend Aznita and my friend Claudia and I just walked around in Cold Storage until we had to leave at 4.30 pm. Then I took the LRT from Kelana Jaya back to Sentral then back on the train to Ipoh.

That was the end of my trip. Overall I had a very fun day at karaoke that I very much needed. I’ve been in a lot of stress and tension lately with problems here and there so it felt really good to just let loose for a while, even though for only a short time.

My Nintendo DS Lite!

September 9, 2011 at 3:00 PM

I have a Nintendo DS Lite again!

August 18th 2011 (meant to blog about this sooner lol)

TADA!

I’ve been wanting a DS Lite for quite a while. I’ve been looking for the cheapest option everywhere and the cheapest I could find for a new set was RM375. However, that’s available in Singapore. Having them to post it here is quite risky plus I’d have to bear expensive charges of sending it back to Singapore should I ever need to claim warranty.

Last month, just so happened that someone was selling a used DS Lite in a forum based in Ipoh. Now, I’ve been against used stuff because I don’t like using stuff that’s been used by unknown people. You don’t know what they’ve done to it, whether they’ve dropped it, whether they caused problems to it and stuff like that.

However, I have my DSi. After bricking my Acekard 2i a while ago, I decided I want a backup DS Lite. I certainly can’t carry my DSi to anywhere I go because of what happened last time (my pretty metallic rose DS Lite was stolen from my bag) so that’s why I decided to accept used nintendo that’s cheap as possible. This guy happened to be based in my city, and after negotiating I got the cheapest price I could get – RM180!

That’s fucking cheap.

The one in the Singapore shop is cheaper – RM173 but again, it’s too risky. No box, plus I can’t test it… So I decided to quickly make a deal with this guy. Unfortunately he had laptop problem that night and couldn’t meet me the next day but would send his brother instead.. now that sounded like a suspicious first deal.. after reading all the con cases in the forum, I was skeptical. He was persistent to deal with me the next day too and doesn’t wanna wait the day after to deal with him.

At last I agreed, telling him to deal at somewhere nearby my place. The agreed time was 6 pm.. guess what time his brother arrived? 6.40 pm. Wtf. I waited there at KFC alone like an idiot because it was fasting month. There was nobody there except 3 staffs and me. I thought I got stood up. I was really pissed, plus mom was waiting in the car, really pissed too, and it was almost time to break the fast so mom wanted to go home to cook.

As I was about to leave, his brother reached the place. Tested the thing, and I couldn’t test it for long but apart from the left upper button being a little hard to press (he already mentioned it in his forum post) everything else is working great. It doesn’t really bother me because I already have my DSi. Not that I use that button a lot. I made the deal with him. I can’t find any other console that’s cheaper than that plus located in my city. White is not my color though. I hated it. It looks yellowish for the buttons. So I pimped it a bit.

There! It looks much better now 😀

Now I can bring it to anywhere I go because it’s smaller, lighter, not new, cheap. Now I have a backup console should I brick my cards again, longer playing hours and double gaming backups! Plus I can play with my guitar hero again yay.

Also, I took this to KL and played it in the train during the journey, and accidentally got addicted with ‘Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney‘. No wonder that game was so much popular.. it’s friggin fun!

Minggu Saham Amanah Malaysia (MSAM) 2011 PART 1

April 27, 2011 at 3:32 AM

UPDATE: Read PART 2!

I have finally made posting blog much more easier now so expect old posts that I’ve been delaying coming up soon. More on this soon but right now I wanna talk about an event we had for the past 1 week here in Ipoh.

It is called “Minggu Saham Amanah Malaysia (MSAM) 2011” that was held at Kompleks Sukan Majlis Bandaraya Ipoh (MBI) from 20th April until 26th April 2011. In English, it’s an event involving stocks, mutual funds and everything relating to investments. The event was organized by “Permodalan Nasional Berhad’ or PNB. PNB is one of Malaysia’s leading asset managers.

This event was huge. It’s unfortunate that it lasted for only a week. I noticed they built the tent thing for more than 2 weeks… all that hard work for only a week’s worth of event. Wow. But it’s not all just about banks, investments and asset management. There were other exhibitors too including cars, government bodies, and other companies, even food.

This is PART 1. PART 2 will be up tomorrow I hope.

Be warned: PICTURE HEAVY!
