Tany

Hey… it’s new year!

HAPPY NEW YEAR 2014!

This was supposed to be posted on new year’s day but I was preoccupied with other things, and then the next day I went to KL for 2 days so I didn’t get a chance to finish this. Since last year I barely blogged at all, so this is gonna be super long.

I can’t believe 2013 is gone now. As usual, all you would hear is ‘how time flies… where did my 2013 go?’. I’m sad. Sad that I’m a year older, and it’s a constant reminder how old I am now. It makes me depressed. Anyways.

I didn’t do anything on new year’s eve to celebrate except sit at home in front of the TV and wait for the countdown. I was depressed, about my problems and also that it was the last day, last minute that I would be in my twenties. Oh God. Moving on. Continue after the cut below.

Merry Christmas 2013

December 26, 2013 at 12:55 PM

I’d like to wish everyone celebrating, MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Merry Christmas from Tany

My Christmas was boring. I did have a kinda okay Christmas eve though. Went out , saw my friend, had a nice dinner and a nice coffee time. I’ve had so much shit happening to me this month, including the death of my 2 beloved kittens, one of them being sick for almost a week and I had to take care of her like a sick person, only to receive a blow that none of my effort could help save her but instead I probably made her more miserable and in more pain. But on the day she died, the other cat gave birth to 2 new tiny babies. Also faced an unexpected death of my hamster which I will elaborate more in a new post soon.

I also had some munchies for my planned Christmas movie marathon which ended up being just a movie a day/night. I was so tired that I ended up watching only a few movies. Here are some of the movies in my list:

  • A Very Harold & Kumar Christmas [watched]
  • Disney’s A Christmas Carol [watched]
  • Christmas with the Kranks [watched]
  • A Christmas Story
  • Home Alone 1 & 2
  • Elf

And also watched Harry Potter 1,3 and 4 since there was HP movie marathon on Christmas. I’ll continue to watch more later tonight if I’m not tired. I just have to try and settled the piles of problems I’m having at the moment.

Received these as gift!

Christmas gift wonka gobstopper candy canes and Coffee Bean gingerbread men

My friend gave me those Wonka’s gobstopper candy canes because I love wonka candies and also a couple of gingerbread men from The Coffee Bean. I fucking love gingerbread man cookies and I am currently sad that I’ve devoured them.

Craving for more.

Also bought this malay novel. It was an impulse purchase in an attempt to try to understand why malay novels are popular right now.

Novel

It better be good and won’t put me to sleep because malay novels usually bore me to death.

A Very Gloomy December

December 7, 2013 at 5:19 PM

This December did not start well. Definitely won’t be a good end of the year, as it hadn’t been a good start of the year.

Bitstrip Comic: Woe is Me

Where do I start?

First of all, last month, my Apple keyboard officially died. And I am currently not in the best of financial situation to get a replacement of the very expensive keyboard. So now, I have to rely on my laptop with the keys barely working as well.

On the first of December, what news did I first hear?

1. THE DEATH OF PAUL WALKER.

Paul Walker & Roger Rodas Fiery Car Crash

The first news I heard waking up on December 1st – “Paul Walker dead“.
I wanted to make a whole post dedicated to Paul Walker, because it was so shocking, so sudden and so devastating. The whole Sunday my facebook feed was flooded with news of Paul Walker and of course news sites, TV and everywhere. RIP Paul Walker and Roger Rodas who died in the fiery car crash. For those who are a huge fan of the Fast & Furious series, this news must be hard to accept, especially since Paul was still filming part 7, and I heard about the funeral scene clip that was released a short while ago.

The severity of the accident, and looking at the car wreck creeps the crap out of me.  Paul Walker was one of the reasons (apart from Vin Diesel) that I loved F&F before. His death affected us all because he was one of the good actors with no controversies and looking at interview clips, he seemed to be a very down to earth kind of guy. There was something about him that makes you feel very.. calm and relaxed. He was also very active with his charity, Reach Out Worldwide and was helping out the victims of Typhoon Haiyan in Philippines.

What will become of the franchise and part 7 now? Feels only yesterday that we heard about the unexpected death of Cory Monteith, now this.

2. CATASTROPHIC DISASTERS

Not only we are still saddened by the disaster of typhoon Haiyan that landed in Philippines, some part of Malaysia also are suffering when the city was flooded with nonstop rain and citizens had to be evacuated to the rescue centers. Even though my neighborhood was flooded a few time last time, I’m thankful that it did not get bad.

3. DEATH OF NELSON MANDELA

The name Nelson Mandela was heard daily when I was young. Of course I was too young to understand who he was and what the issues were at that time. He passed away 2 days ago at the age of 95. Again my facebook feeds was flooded with news and condolences.

4. THE DEATH OF MY KITTEN

On that very same day of the passing of Nelson Mandela, my beloved kitten died too. I don’t know why the night before he suddenly had problems breathing/shortness of breath. I have been so depressed, so down about it. Their mother, my cat Tia, went missing a couple of months ago so I have been worried about them and have been taking care of them. It’s sad to see that I failed at taking care of my kittens. It sucks so bad to not be able to do anything because no vet opens at night. RIP kitty 🙁

5. MASSIVE PAIN ON MY LEFT FOOT

For the past 2 1/2 weeks, I’ve had this massive pain on my left foot. Every time I tried to walk, or put pressure on the heel, it would hurt like a motherhumper. And a few days ago, in the effort to lose weight I was walking around my house with flipflops on, and somehow the skin between my toes was scraped and peeled open and only God knows how much it stung and how painful it was. It has been days and been leaving the wound to dry up, and it has, so the pain is gone if I don’t walk.

6. SERIOUS FINANCIAL PROBLEMS

My financial problems has been an ongoing problem but never has it reached to this point where I am now. It’s not like I’ve been spending on useless things, in fact, apart from food, I haven’t been spending on anything. It’s all the damn bills. Ever since BN won the GE13, they’ve started increasing this and that, cutting down the subsidy of this and that, so the expense has increased, prices have increased including petrol, and somehow I’ve been bombarded with many old bills that they’re forcing me to pay now. I mean, it has been idle for years.. now they’re all chasing me at once when I have so many other bills and loans to pay and I am not making enough. The amount I have to pay each month only suits for jobs like manager or something.. of at least RM10k a month. I’ve been trying to find a job but there has been NONE. None that I can apply because I don’t meet their requirement.

So in conclusion, I’ve been having extremely rough time this past few months. The toughest moment in my life. It seems that so far, I’ve been surrounded with depressing things like pain, misery and news of death. I don’t know why I keep telling myself that I will turn this around one day, I just have to be patience.. but my patience is almost non-existent right now.

However, on a slightly lighter note.. I was deleting some old posts from years ago that I don’t find relevant to be published in my blog anymore and I realized that no matter what back then, I would try to blog something about anything and everything. It is my personal blog anyway. My passion for blogging in this domain is slowly diminishing and I want to get it back. Hopefully I can. The thing is, blogging for personal site used to be like writing in a (public) diary. Now you won’t get listed in search engine if you don’t follow the SEO rules and nobody cares about about personal blog anymore.

That’s the end of this blog. Hopefully things will change for the better soon.

My Halloween Horror Movie Marathon

Happy Belated Halloween!
Happy Deepavali!
And .. Salam Maal Hijrah!

There aren’t any interesting thing that happened lately. I accidentally smashed my thumb while shutting my kitchen’s window today and it’s been hours but still painful and throbbing so I’m gonna make this quick. So every year, it’s my own tradition to have a horror movie marathon on Halloween night. This year, Halloween fell on Thursday so it’s kind of difficult to really enjoy it. It sucks that TV nowadays don’t really have anything interesting for Halloween. They used to have horror movies/series marathon as well, particularly Star World which for many years before never failed to air ”The Simpsons Treehouse of Horror‘ for halloween. I miss that.

I’ve been pretty busy few days ago that I ended up being so sleepy and tired that I only managed to watch 2 movies that night. So I decided I’d have my horror movie marathon in the weekend. I’ve downloaded  few movies that I ‘saved’ for Halloween that I really wanna watch. Since yesterday I’ve been watching a few movies and some are awesome, and some are so bleh. Here’s the list of movies in my list:

  • Hocus Pocus
  • Trick R Treat [watched]
  • Friday the 13th [watched]
  • Insidious [watched]
  • The Conjuring [watched]
  • Ernest Scared Stupid
  • The Haunting Hour: Don’t Think About It [watched]
  • The Faculty [watched]
  • The Innkeepers [watched]
  • Silent Hill [watched halfway]
  • Maniac [watched]
  • V/H/S 2
  • The Haunting (1963) [watched]
  • Carrie (1976) [watched]
  • Dead Alive
  • The Theatre Bizarre
  • The Woman in Black
  • Citadel
  • Tales from the Crypt: Demon Knight
  • Cabin in the Woods

I don’t expect to be able to watch them all but so far I’ve managed to watch half of them. Some of the movie will be reviewed at Living Dead Girl: Movie Review Blog. I really wanna review Maniac! It was an awesome movie; very disturbing, gory, sick and twisted! I’m currently watching ‘The Innkeeper‘ and I read good reviews about this one, so I better continue watching it now.

I’ve also been into books lately, so I’ll do some book reviews soon. I’ve discovered reading books keep me calm lately. Strange. I used to love books, but then I lost interest and since then I would fall asleep right after 5 minutes of reading. I guess since now I’m reading it from my phone using the Kindle app, it sparked the interest in me again.

Toodles.

‘Glee’ Star Cory Monteith Found Dead. RIP Cory!

Cory Monteith Found Dead in Vancouver

What a shocking news.

As a huge Glee fan, this news saddens me deeply. Glee has been quite an addiction to me since 2010. The news of his passing is just shocking. He was only 31.

According to police in Vancouver the actor was found dead in his room at the Fairmont Pacific Rim Hotel around noon today after staffers went to check on him when he didn’t check out on time.

Glee will never be the same again. You’re always gonna be thinking, “Finn is no longer alive…” when you watch Glee. I mean Finn Hudson was the main part of Glee and his relationship with Quinn at first, then with Rachel. I can’t imagine how Lea Michelle, who plays Rachel and also his real life gf, must be feeling and the rest of Glee cast. It’s never easy to handle the sudden death of someone you know, especially someone you’re very close with. My heart goes out to his family, friends, his gf Lea and the Glee cast and crew.

This has been a very depressing month.

Rest in Peace, Cory Monteith aka Finn Hudson.
