Tany's Day Out
An Interesting Lucky Draw Win
0I won a lucky draw but it’s an interesting one!
You see, when I filled up petrol for my car at a nearby Petronas station, this very friendly attendant helped me out by filling it out for me and teaching me how to use the card to pay for it (I usually would ask them to do it). After talking he told me they’re having a lucky draw and since I filled up full tank, I was eligible to get two stamps. I’d need 3 stamps to enter. It was not until the 2nd last day before I submitted. By that time, the box was so full that I had a hard time pushing my lucky draw paper in.. I think there must’ve been thousands of entries in there.
Boy was I surprised when I got a call last Saturday saying that I’m a lucky winner. They picked 42 winners from the box, and they will do an event where they’ll draw names to determine which prize we will win. All I wanted was the free food, haha.
The ceremony started at 11 am at the Petronas station, just outside of its mini mart. I was surprised when I reached there.

I didn’t realize when I entered (because I didn’t think I’d win anyway) that all prizes were TOYS. Hahahaha. TOYS! For babies and toddlers! OMG. I was like WTF.
They started the lucky draw and I was praying I don’t win the shitty prizes like tiny school bags meant for toddlers. They were a lot of school bags as the bottom prizes. I was eyeing on the hello kitty or at least that Tiger plushie… at least they’re cute and I can use it. Unfortunately I didn’t get the plushies! I was soooo close though! I had the 16th prize and the hello kitty was for 13th place and Tiger was for 10th. I also wouldn’t mind the 3rd prize which was a remote controller dinosaur figure. OR THE BARBIES! Well not really barbies.. all of the prizes were all cheap China knockoffs. The first prize was an imitation of Transformers robot. Or even the keyboard would’ve been useful and not so embarrassing.

Here are some of the top 10 winners. See that McDonald’s behind there? The exact location where I had an accident. Urgh. Hurt to see it.

Many left early and didn’t even eat the food.. so more for me!

But a lot of people attended.

The best highlight was definitely the food! I’m not a fan of fried noodle but seriously, it was the best and the most damn delicious fried noodle I’ve ever tasted. So yummy that I had 1 1/2 plate, and took home a plate full because they were so much leftover. The ‘kuih’ (or snacks) were delicious too! Too bad they just served plain water because it was a hot day, so I was very thirsty. Wish there was cold drink.

DELICIOUS!
Then I went home and opened the prize.

Here’s what I won. A cheap china-made playhouse meant for babies.. Hahahahaha. It was quite embarrassing to win this.. and it’s very useless since I don’t even have a baby. Don’t know anyone with babies either. But you know what?

It’s actually very cute! It’s like a cute tent that even I can hide in. Haha. I decided to see if my cats would like this as their playhouse and you know what?

They do! A LOT. They wouldn’t stop playing with it and playing inside it. It’s like their little hideout. My 3 outdoor cats are the ones that loves it so much. They like to play and wrestle in it. But Orenji loves it the most. He sleeps in it. He’s practically in the tent everytime he’s inside the house.

Well that’s the end of my interesting lucky draw ever. I had another lucky draw that I won last year that I have yet to write about. I’ll try to find some time to write it. I feel kinda cold now.. would be nice to have a heated blanket. Toodles.

2How does ’round’ look like?

This was taken from my university college. It amazes me that they even had to point out how a ‘ROUND’ should look like.. while STILL pointing out where to press it considering it’s an international college. What, is there any other shape for ‘ROUND’ that I don’t know about? Did anyone get confused on what ’round’ should look like?

A Whole Day of Learning
0I woke up early tonight and I can’t go back to sleep. I have so much things to do today. I’m thinking of straightening my hair and cutting it a bit today. We’ll see. Not sure what to do now – maybe blog a bit then play Second Life for a while then watch tv. I don’t know.
Looking for watches? Citizen watches.
Yesterday I went to a training lecture at YMCA Ipoh to learn new products for my new part time job as financial/wealth adviser. I was trying to absorb so much in one day of things I barely knew about and after having only an hour sleep. I was like a zombie for the whole day. However the ‘lecturer’ was so hilarious that I managed to sit through everything without falling asleep. He was absolutely hilarious. The best part? The food. We had tea break at 10.20 am with fried vermicelli, and some chiffon cakes and tea, then lunch break at 12.30 pm with rice, chicken, veggies and egg curry then another tea break at 3 pm with fried spring roll and some dessert/snack. I didn’t take any pictures because I didn’t think there was anything interesting about it.
I’ve been depressed the day before. I was feeling very emo and very lonely. I started to play with Second Life a bit and had forgotten how much just wandering around in the 3D world, shopping for clothes and hair could make me forget my depression and to just kill time. I had forgotten it was my temporary ‘cure’ during my breakup years ago. Second Life has changed so much now though and it’s like a strange world compared to the small, friendly world back in 2007 but oh well.
Alright now I’m gonna watch Flatliners. Last time I watched this was when I was 11.. didn’t get a thing about this movie except that some med students tried to experience life after death. I think I fell asleep too back then and thought this was a boring movie because I don’t remember much about this movie. Great casts in this movie. All the big names – Kiefer Sutherland, Kevin Back, William Baldwin – all looking damn hot and also the gorgeous Julia Roberts.

To KL & Back Again
0I went to KL yesterday.
It was a just a day trip but a damn tiring one. We planned to leave at 8 am but I had a very tiring Saturday so I ended up sleeping in the entire evening and woke up at 10 pm. I actually went to Tesco to shop at 11 pm and got home at almost 1 am. Haha.
We reached KL at almost 12 pm, then straight away went to bakery shops and bought lots of stuff – chocolates, cake mix, drinks etc. After having fun like a kid in a toy store, we went to Berjaya Times Square for lunch and reached there at almost 4 pm. Wow, I haven’t been there in ages because majority of things have changed especially the food court. It’s so much better now and the best thing is that it’s located on the lower ground floor instead of the lonely 10th floor. I had Japanese teriyaki chicken bento. Surprisingly they’re quite cheap. And you have to use a prepaid card to pay for the food.

It actually taste quite good too except I’ve had better chawanmushi before at Yoshinoya. I miss yoshinoya which is no longer available in Malaysia
Their chawanmushi was damn good – they had mushroom and crabs but then they toned it down but the price remained which upsets me. Now they’re completely gone. Blah. This chawanmushi had only 4 small pieces of crab sticks, that’s it. Bit disappointed.
Anyways, then I went to ‘Low Yat Plaza‘ and FINALLY bought myself the laptop table I’ve always wanted. I think this is like the 4th or 5th table. It has low quality built but what the heck. I found exactly the one I wanted after a long search. I wonder how come they don’t have any tables in my city until I have to go to KL to search for it. I hope this one will last longer than the ones I had.
I also bought a new modem router because my old one finally died, I think. It’s a Belkin and they said I have a lifetime warranty but I’m not gonna claim the warranty because it’s pretty outdated. Now I have a better modem router (D-Link) and it’s cheaper than Belkin. It’s working fine now and I finally can use my streamyx again. Even though I had streamyx so much because it’s so slow, at least it doesn’t have limited bandwidth. Unlike my P1 Wimax, even though the speed is good, but I only have 30Gb bandwidth a month. I wanna play second life again.
So we finally left KL at 6.15pm and got stuck in traffic jam for a bit. That’s one thing I don’t miss about KL – the massive traffic jam. But luckily after a while I accidentally found the highway back to Ipoh so we didn’t get delayed and left for Ipoh. However my uncle thought we’d visit a relative – we got lost and spent over an hour to search for the place only to find out they were not at home. :\ I was already too tired and sleepy and I had to stop at 2 different rest stops to take a quick nap. Plus it was drizzling so it was like a perfect weather to sleep.
Well I finally reached my home at almost 12 am. Had to speed a bit otherwise I’d fall asleep in the car. I was really sleepy and tired and my right knee was hurting like hell. Thank God there was no scary experiences on the highway like the last time except a couple of minor ones in Kl where I almost drove my car to hit other car. My mistake.
I spent the entire day today sleeping wtf. I had to wake up at night to go to class but now it’s 4 am and I’m wide awake. Gah. Oh well.
Macaron oh Macaron!
0I am in KL/PJ now. Haven’t been back here for months. Yesterday was hell because I drove from 8 am straight from my hometown in Ipoh to Melaka and reached at about 12 pm or so. It was the first time going long distance with my new Kia Forte car and boy, it was awesome compared to my tiny Kancil that served me loyally for 5+ years. The best thing was the ‘auto cruise’ feature that allows the car to move on itself without me having to keep my feet pressing the pedal. I didn’t think that feature is such a big deal but trust me, if you’re like me, it IS! I’m glad I chose Kia Forte 2.0 which has that feature. Because of that, my legs weren’t tired.
In Melaka, we visited my uncle’s friend, talked in her extreme hot house, then went cruising in Melaka. It was very tiring but I did get to buy lots of chocolate moulds! I went crazy. I can go back home and go crazy making chocolates. Then drove back to PJ and missed an exit and got stuck in massive traffic jam! I reached my apartment at 8 pm only to find out that there was no electricity and water, wtf. So had to find hotel room and luckily we found one
Last night when I was looking for bread, I found this! -

MACARON!!
Ok, so it’s the current craze.. these sweet french cookie is so awesome! They got such nice ‘feet’ on the macaron.. I tried to make them but it was such an epic fail but I will not give up. Today I’m hunting for more.. I know cupcake chic sells them now so I’m gonna go crazy and buy them and get some cupcakes as well.
After that I’m gonna go to KLCC and hunt for some.. would be super expensive though. I have no time to go anywhere else though
I’m probably gonna spend a long time at Kinokuniya. Then back to Ipoh. Alright gonna go get ready now.

Minggu Saham Amanah (MSAM) 2011 PART 2
4I wanted to post this part two last week but so much things happening that I had to delay.
Read PART 1 of this post
I didn’t wanna go on the last day of MSAM but I wanted to register for something so I had to and went in the morning. I met with the people I promised to meet and I just sat there from 1 pm till 2.30 pm just chatting. They blocked one side of the road already since the deputy prime minister and education minister, Tan Sri Dato’Haji Muhyiddin Yassin will be coming for the closing.
Minggu Saham Amanah Malaysia (MSAM) 2011 PART 1
5UPDATE: Read PART 2!
I have finally made posting blog much more easier now so expect old posts that I’ve been delaying coming up soon. More on this soon but right now I wanna talk about an event we had for the past 1 week here in Ipoh.
It is called “Minggu Saham Amanah Malaysia (MSAM) 2011” that was held at Kompleks Sukan Majlis Bandaraya Ipoh (MBI) from 20th April until 26th April 2011. In English, it’s an event involving stocks, mutual funds and everything relating to investments. The event was organized by “Permodalan Nasional Berhad’ or PNB. PNB is one of Malaysia’s leading asset managers.
This event was huge. It’s unfortunate that it lasted for only a week. I noticed they built the tent thing for more than 2 weeks… all that hard work for only a week’s worth of event. Wow. But it’s not all just about banks, investments and asset management. There were other exhibitors too including cars, government bodies, and other companies, even food.
This is PART 1. PART 2 will be up tomorrow I hope.
Be warned: PICTURE HEAVY!
Anna Sui & Playboy Perfume Review & Mila AF4
2Like I always say, I have a lot that I want to post, lots of pictures I want to post but I never did. A lot of things keep happening that made me feel so lazy to blog nowadays. This is not cool. I bought my iMac with a hope that I will become more productive but unfortunately I become less and less productive! My hometown is starting to get to me. I feel lazy here. I don’t feel like doing anything here except sleep. It’s driving me insane because then I will get all depressed thinking about the time I’ve wasted in this dull city.
Anyways.
On April 3rd, I went shopping with my friend. We went to Ipoh Parade and at first I just wanted to look around because I’ve been spending thousands, yes, THOUSANDS in past couple of months (more like thousands in a month) so I’m really broke right now but who am I kidding? I can never go back home without even spending a buck on something x.x I decided to buy these: -

ANNA SUI’S FLIGHT OF FANCY AND PLAYBOY FOR WOMEN FRAGRANCE!
You see, I bought quite a cheap but really nice perfume a short while ago and after less than 5 use, it wouldn’t work! It won’t spray out the perfume.. wtf. So desperate, I went looking for another cheap perfume and found Playboy perfume for around RM45 which contains the perfume and deodorant in a box. There were 3 types – Play It Spicy, Play It Sexy & Play It Lovely.

The bottles are soooo cute!
I smelled Play It Spicy first and it was very nice! It does give the ‘spicy’ feel.. then I tried Play It Sexy, uh.. didn’t like it. It was a common smell to me and doesn’t even feel sexy with it.. but Play It Lovely is also very nice! I was basically torn between the two – Spicy and Lovely.. at last I decided to choose Lovely because it has a softer smell.. maybe soon I’ll get Spicy.
It also comes with a deodorant bottle (it’s in one box, but you can get them separately).
Then I went to a perfume store that we’ve never entered before. Didn’t even know there was a perfume store there carrying lots of different perfumes that we didn’t have before at the mall. Then I saw Anna Sui’s Flight of Fancy! I got to know the perfume from WenPink‘s entry. First thing that caught my eyes was the design of the bottle resembling a peacock… it’s very nice!

But it’s not just the look.. as soon as I tried the smell, I instantly fell in love with it! It has a very soft smell. Out of all the perfumes I tried, I liked this one the most. However there is one more fragrance that I really love – Hello Kitty for Woman!

I LOOOOVE the smell! I first tried this when there was a toys fair in PJ last year. If I’m not mistaken the ones for kids does not have alcohol? But I don’t like the smell for the kids.. but for woman it’s very nice! Kinda fruity-like smell. I wanted it badly. Unfortunately I couldn’t spend on both because then I’ll be extremely broke and I needed to go to KL so I decided to choose Anna Sui because there was only one bottle left, and there was a good discount. It was RM200 but I bought it for RM16x-ish.. I saw the perfume at Sasa store and they were selling it at RM180-ish.
So there goes my experience on purchasing my first expensive perfume haha. I can’t believe I haven’t bought my all time favorite yet – Lancome’s Hypnose. Maybe next time.
Also during that day, at another mall, we saw Mila AF! She was the winner of this extremely stupid Malaysian reality singing show called Akademi Fantasia that’s not even up to par with American Idol… no no no. It far worse. Anyways. I hate that show. Never cared about it but it was a surprise to know Mila was coming that night… all the fuss about her being very small are true! She is VERY SMALL! And she was even wearing high heels but still look very small. Her hair was bigger than her, I kept wondering if the hair would be too heavy for her haha.

It was still cool to see her.

HAPPY NEW YEAR! First post of 2011!
4HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
GOODBYE 2010 and HELLO 2011!
My new year celebration was sooo lame haha however yesterday was one of the best days in a few months. I didn’t think I was gonna go celebrate NYE. Suddenly at 7.30 pm my friend texted me and asked me what I was doing for NYE. When I said nothing she asked me if I wanted to join her and her friends and since I didn’t wanna be at home and have another lame NYE like last year (I fell asleep before the countdown!) so I said yes, I’d join them even though I don’t know her friends. Then Claudia called from London! Yay. So that made my night
Then I rushed to get ready because she was on the way, and I dressed like shit, not knowing that there would be boys joining also. Blergh. So we went to the MBI park and just relaxed at the food stall and the boys ordered SHISHA!

I miss it. But it was more fun when I had it with my friends in KL. Gosh I miss them. I still remember in 2009 in December we were having so much fun because we just finished with graduation showcase and stuff. And KL shisha taste better actually. Anyways. We were just freezing our asses of there because it was still way too early. So until about 11-ish pm, we walked to the park, sat there, camwhored and when midnight struck.. NOTHING. Can you believe that? There was NOTHING! There were a lot of people playing with this glow-in-the-dark kind of toy by throwing them up in the air so I saw a lot of glowing stuff, but no countdown, and no fireworks! There was 2 small firecrackers 5 minutes before midnight but that was it! How lame. So we waited there until like 1 am because there was a heavy traffic jam on the road.. and loads and loads of bikes.. urgh. They decided to go to the other park we call ‘Polo park’.
On the way there they stopped at a gas station, and we all needed to pee badly, haha but can you believe it? They toilet for the girl at the gas station was locked?? So everyone had to share one toilet? OMFG eww! So we decided to hold it in and wait in the car when this one car park next to us to pump tyres. The dude had funky clothes and was in a rush, looked like a cartoon actually haha. When he turned his face towards me that’s when I saw it was SATHIA! OMG.

He’s the popular Malaysian comedian and I’ve been a fan of him since I was little. It was awesome to see him next to the car window haha. He was wearing Indian costume so I’m guessing he was here doing a show? He smiled at us and then I just screamed ‘HAPPY NEW YEAR’ and he said thanks haha Awesome.
After that we just relaxed at the Polo park, I ate ‘laksa’ and went back home at like almost 3 am. One thing to note is that there was at least 3 or 4 road blocks that I saw and nearby my house, there was one road block and when we reached the road block, she slowed down then kept going but was stopped by the police seconds after.. and guess what? The police just yelled at her for not stopping! WHAT THE FUCK. It was an honest mistake and she said sorry! We all thought the police asked us to keep going because the first road block at Polo park was like that, and also because he didn’t show the slightest sign of asking us to stop and gosh, I was just sitting there, with my jaw dropped open at HOW RUDE THE FUCKING POLICE OFFICER WAS! We’re not fucking criminals, and give us a fucking break, it was NEW YEAR! It’s not like we go out late every night whoring. No need to be so fucking RUDE. Gosh. Reminds me when one police officer stopped me because one of my tail lights was broken but instead he was asking stupid questions and ‘scanning’ my body with a torchlight…which was so fucking creepy. Euuurgh *shudders* But I rather have flirty police officer than one who yells.. scares the fuck out of me.
Anyways, even though it sucked that there was no celebration whatsoever in Ipoh, at least I didn’t spend it alone at home, especially since I left my cable tv smartcard in KL so I can’t watch TV. Argh. Anyways, I’ve also received my Christmas present delivered yesterday so yay, it was an awesome last day of 2010. I will blog about my Christmas present tomorrow. Wow can’t believe it’s 2011 already. Gotta think about my new year’s resolution.
Merry Christmas 2010!
0MERRY CHRISTMAS!
I came back from KL last Thursday and arrived safely at about 7pm. Then I realized that I left my Astro smartcard in KL and so until I go back to KL which is most probably during my convocation in mid-Jan, I won’t be able to watch any TV! No Christmas movies/shows or New Year’s. FML. Oh well. At least I have my media player and I can still watch stuff on TV.
I went to Jusco today and God it was crowded as hell. My friend was wondering why the roads seemed empty.. turns out half of Ipoh went to Jusco :\ Well, compared to few years before, Ipoh has changed, a lot. It’s almost becoming a busy city like KL. I guess it’s because within this 2-4 years a lot of new buldings and homes built, it’s no longer a peaceful city as it used to be.
My wireless keyboard and mouse aren’t 100% responsive. Maybe I need to buy batteries, better ones and not the cheap ones from Giant hypermarket, There’s a lot more to write about but I’m too tired and sleepy now so I shall watch some movies then sleep.

Name's
