A Fun Day Trip to KL For A RedBox Karaoke Session
2I went back to KL/PJ yesterday for a day trip. I went there to see my friends, one of them is about to leave to London again. I miss hanging out and just wasting time walking in shopping malls with that girl. <3
I had a lot of problems planning my trip. It’s because I thought my uncle has gone to KL already and I have no one to send and pick me up to the train station. Taking a cab is SO EXPENSIVE. RM15 for a trip to my house that’s just a few minutes away? No way. So it was a tough time planning until night time when my uncle finally called and he said he didn’t go to KL. Yay. And he’s willing to help pick me up. So that’s settled when another problem appeared – train tickets. Luckily I went to buy the tickets at 7 am for the 8.30am train and it was available. I also booked a return trip ticket for 5.35 pm. So everything is settled. Off I went to KL!
Of course I went with the ETS train. I got a window seat on coach A.

OMG the ETS train finally stopped playing Tom & Jerry on repeat! They played one of my favorite childhood movies ever – Little Giants! Too bad I couldn’t see clearly from where I was and there was no sound.. the last time I was on ETS train was April 2011 I think.. it was almost a year ago.

My meal on the train
I haven’t had their ‘nasi lemak’ in ages.. I loved it. Particularly because the chicken rendang is just meat, no bones.. and it was delicious. Expensive meal, but delicious. The meal cost me RM8 something. It’s okay. It’s been one year since I last had the ‘nasi lemak’ so what the hell.
I reached KL Sentral at 10.35am, straight away took the RapidKL LRT to Taman Bahagia, then took at cab to The Curve which cost me only RM8
I was supposed to meet my friends for a karaoke session at 11.30am but I reached there at 11.10 am which was surprisingly earlier than I expected! I went to Daiso for a bit, bought some stuff then rushed to RedBox.
They had the special lunch hour rate which includes set lunch for RM12++ per person so that was really affordable! We had this HUGE room for 3 people which was really nice. We had ample space for dancing haha

We had this creamy spaghetti (carbonara?) that came with a gigantic plate and lots of chicken, mushrom and prawns. It was really delicious. My friends ordered lychee drinks while I had the orange drink.

I didn’t take many pics because we dimmed the room dark, and my phone was on low battery so I had to leave it to charge. My friend started singing and it was quite awkward at first but once we got the groove on, oh man did we all go crazy. I think due to the song selections which we mixed with oldschool 90s and latest hits, and the room sounds like a club, we started dancing like crazy haha. It was so much fun! I haven’t had this much fun in ages! Also turns out we had the room from 12pm to 3 pm instead of 2 pm we thought at first, which gave us a lot of time to sing and dance and go crazy! I love these girls. It’s a fresh and nice change of atmosphere from my stuck up pretend goodie two shoes colleagues at work.
I was singing my lungs out until I got sore throat and almost lost my voice. Had to really release all the stress. Total bill came up to around RM41..so technically it was RM14 per person. Not bad at all for 3 hours of unlimited songs inclusive lunch! Alas, at 3 pm we had to leave. Said goobye to my friend Aznita and my friend Claudia and I just walked around in Cold Storage until we had to leave at 4.30 pm. Then I took the LRT from Kelana Jaya back to Sentral then back on the train to Ipoh.
That was the end of my trip. Overall I had a very fun day at karaoke that I very much needed. I’ve been in a lot of stress and tension lately with problems here and there so it felt really good to just let loose for a while, even though for only a short time. Fender bassman 250.
Nando’s Punch Better Than KFC
2It certainly is better.

Clever!
Take THAT KFC.
But I still love KFC despite all the chaos about the staff’s breaking some kung fu moves on a customer. They do have the most awesomest chickens and coleslaw.

RIP Whitney Houston 1963-2012

RIP Whitney Houston
Another legend gone. I’m a little bit late with posting the news but oh well. I found out about her death through facebook’s private message. My friend private messaged me saying RIP Whitney.. and I just woke up mind you. I was totally like WTF? So I went to yahoo and yeah, I saw the news about her death.
It’s very sad really. She was still young. To go at that age is a waste for someone with her talent. I grew up with her music. I loved majority of her songs. Here’s one of them – Heartbreak Hotel which Whitney did a collaboration with Faith Evans and Kelly Price. I’m thankful for youtube because now I can watch old music videos again. However fucking VEVO blocked this video for my country. Fuck you VEVO.
PS: Someone pointed this out which I didn’t realize before. This is my favorite song and she died in a hotel. It IS a heartbreak hotel then :\

You said you’d be here by 9
Instead you took your time
You didn’t think to call me boy
Here I sit, tryin’ not to cry
Askin’ myself why, you do this to me
Since you’re not around for me
To tell you baby face to face
I’m writing you this letter
And this is what I have to say
All I really wanted was some of your time
Instead you told me lies when someone else was on your mind
What’d you do to me? Look what you did to me
I thought that you were someone who would do me right
Until you played with my emotions and you made me cry
What’d you do to me? Can’t take what you did to me
Now I see, that you’ve been doin’ wrong
Played me all along and made a fool of me baby
You got it all wrong to think that I wouldn’t find out
That you were cheatin’ on me, baby how could u do it to me
Since you’re not around for me
To tell you baby face to face
I’m writing you this letter
And this is what I have to say
All I really wanted was some of your time
Instead you told me lies when someone else was on your mind

BtJunkie Shuts Down In Fear. RIP BtJunkie.
0The effect of megaupload shut down is massive. Now, one of the most popular torrent sites, BtJunkie has shut down in fear.

The Megaupload shutdown has claimed another victim. BitTorrent indexing site BTJunkie has closed up shop.
Visiting btjunkie.org currently displays a blank page with nothing more than “btjunkie 2005-2012″ and a brief notefrom the founders.
“This is the end of the line my friends. The decision does not come easy, but we’ve decided to voluntarily shut down,” they wrote. “We’ve been fighting for years for your right to communicate, but it’s time to move on. It’s been an experience of a lifetime, we wish you all the best!”
The company did not specifically address why it opted to shut down, but in an interview with TorrentFreak, BTJunkie’s unnamed founder said the threat of legal action was a main reason. “Witnessing all the trouble colleagues got into was cause for a lot of worry and stress, and those will now belong to the past,” TorrentFreak wrote.
The blog noted that BTJunkie was reported to the U.S. Trade Representative (USTR) in November, the MPAA and RIAA list it as a “rogue” Web site (like those targeted by SOPA and PIPA), and it is censored by Google over piracy concerns.
Last month, the Justice Department shut down Megaupload.com for massive copyright infringement. Several of its executives were arrested and they face up to 50 years in prison on various charges.
In the wake of that takedown, multiple cloud-based services altered their services - shutting downfile-sharing options, eliminating upload rewards, or cutting off access to U.S. users.
In a January roundup of the most popular torrent sites, TorrentFreak said BTJunkie landed at number five.
The number-one site on that list was The Pirate Bay. Last week, Sweden’s Supreme Court refused to hear an appeal from the site’s founders, who were found guilty of copyright infringement in 2009.
Why do sites that I use often are now no longer available? Argh. This frustrates me to no end. Thank you America for destroying the internet for the rest of the world. This bites. I hate starting over. It took me a long time to get used to btjunkie after the shut down of mininova.org. RIP BtJunkie. It was fun while it lasted.

Hafalan Shalat Delisa (2011) Review
0I’ve been seeing this movie’s trailer on tv everyday for the past couple of weeks because it’s on Pay-Per-View. All I could say is that this movie is so SAD!

HAFALAN SHALAT DELISA (2011)
Delisa (Chantiq Schagerl), a cheerful little girl who lived in a small village named Lhok Nga on the coast of Aceh, had a wonderful life.
She was the youngest child of the family of Abu Usman (Reza Rahadian). Her father worked in an oil tanker of an international oil company.
Delisa was very close to her mother that she called Ummi (Nirina Zubir), her older sister Fatimah (Ghina Salsabila), and the twins Aisha (Reska Tania Apriadi) and Zahra (Riska Tania Apriadi).
December 26, 2004, Delisa with Ummi was getting towards the prayer exam when suddenly there was an earthquake. An earthquake that made Ummi and her sisters frightened. Suddenly the tsunami struck, eradicate their small village, destroying their school, and washed away Delisa as well as hundreds of thousands of other in Aceh and other parts of the coast in Southeast Asia.
Delisa was rescued by a soldier named Smith, after days passed out on the rocky hill. Unfortunately, serious injuries makes Delisa’s right leg must be amputated. It makes soldier Smith wanted to adopt her, but Abu Usman managed to find Delisa. Delisa happy together again with her father, though sad to hear news of her sisters has gone to heaven, and Ummi still not found.
Delisa has become a little angel who shared a laugh in every presence. Delisa learns how to survive a new life after the disaster and the true meaning of the more values in life which is sincerity with her father and everyone around her to guide her.
‘Delisa love Ummi because of Allah’

Cast: Nirina Zubir, Reza Rahadian, Chantiq Schagerl, Al Fathir Muchtar, Mike Lewis, Loide Christina Teixeira
Release Date: December 22, 2011
STORY
This movie is so touching. At one point I actually had tears in my eyes. The story is based on the book by Tere Liye.
It’s a very religious movie, but also emphasizing on moral values in life. It’s sad to see how tough it is for a little girl (I think she’s 6?) who lost one of legs due to the Tsunami, lost all of her family except her dad, everything she had – her homes, the village, best friends, to struggle to survive the aftermath. She barely understood much the meaning of the disaster, the situation and always keep a cheerful face but when she did, you could actually feel her pain.
Chantiq played Delisa very well. She really did get into the character. You could see how close she was to her family.
Same goes for others. They all did their parts well and it makes you really connect with the characters and not feel as if they’re just characters. They pulled you into their life, and their pain and their struggle to survive with what’s left after the Tsunami. As you know, the Tsunami was one of the biggest devastating disaster in the history. You saw the disaster and the effect, but through this movie you will see how they’re trying to survive the aftermath and rebuild their lives.
Only thing that irks me is that in some part, the characters were overdone to almost seem unreal. Acting I mean. But other than that, they were good.
You also see how Delisa tries to grasp the meaning of certain values like doing something with sincerity and not hoping for something in return. You do it because of Allah swt, not because of a prize or a gift. There are also some other moral values that they tries to teach in this movie.
EFFECTS
This is not million dollars Hollywood movie, I have to keep reminding myself therefore you don’t expect Steven Spielberg or James cameron level of true special effect. The CGI was so obvious that it kind of ruins the whole experience. When there’s no CGI involved, they story is well done. You actually see what the Tsunami did, and all the wreck. I was hoping for more severe image of the effect of Tsunami, like the bodies and all but you don’t see that. It’s sort of the very mild version of the real Tsunami.
SPOILER ALERT!!! SKIP THIS PART!!
ENDING (SPOILER ALERT!!!!)
The only thing I don’t get is the ending. It shows that the necklace that Delisa’s mother promised to give her once she passed her prayer exam is on her neck. You see her finding her mother, lying on the beach, holding the necklace which she took. Her mother disappeared with the necklace during the Tsunami. Maybe because I watched this quite late that I probably couldn’t digest this part but seriously, I got really confused as to how she got the necklace. Did she find the mother? If she did, then wow, her mother was in good condition that it’s unreal. I seriously don’t know.
SPOILER ENDS.
Overall, it’s a very good and touching drama. It’s worth watching. It’s something fresh from the Indonesian cinema because I am so friggin sick and tired of all the stupid horror movies. As an obsessed horror movie freak, I always feel very insulted when watching Indonesian horror movies. They used to be good – especially the classic ones but modern horror movies? PURE TRASH. They’re more like softcore porn rather than horror movies. They also always make fun of the ghosts especially pocong. God, I can’t even count how many pocong movies are there. 90% of them are pure piece of dog shit. They insult your intelligence.
Now I feel like getting the book but I might have some trouble understanding Indonesian language but I still want it. I wonder if I can find it here. Before I end this, here’s the trailer of the movie. Enjoy.
PS: One major plus point about this movie is that all the guys in this movie are very good looking! Ustaz Rahman, Delisa’s father and Smith.
Luxurious Mobile Homes
0You know what would be cool? Luxurious mobile homes. Not those typical trashy mobile home, but ones that are really nice and really expensive.

We don’t have these kind of homes here in Malaysia so it’s actually very interesting to me. Your house wherever you go. Typical mobile homes might not be comfortable enough but it would be if your bedroom inside the mobile home looks like this:

DAYMN, SON!
MakeUpMania & Ben Nye Neutral Set Translucent Face Powder Review
2My order from MakeUpMania has arrived today!

They followed my instruction to put ‘FRAGILE‘ on it, which is good
The box arrived in perfect condition. I was scared to order at first since this is my first time ordering from them but since they have the cheapest option for shipping, I decided to gamble and order anyway.
It was surprisingly fast! The shipping cost USD$9.99 using USPS First Class International Mail and shipped from Denver, Colorado. Now from all the orders I had with amazon.om, normal standard international shipping usually would take 2 weeks. So I didn’t expect this order would come in less than a week. I have been searching for a place to buy Ben Nye Neutral Set Colorless Face Powder for a long time. I’m running out of the powder so I’ve been desperate.

This powder, to me, is THE BEST setting powder ever. If you don’t know Ben Nye, it’s a brand that focus on special effects and theatrical makeup so of course when you perform under harsh lights, you would get all sweaty. The best thing about this setting powder is that it has antiperspirant. It protects your makeup from melting when you sweat! I have had makeups on for a whole day and before I found out about this powder, my makeup would melt and become cakey and shit. Since I have oily face, it gets worse. This powder helps my makeup to stay on without melting from the sweat. It’s the best thing ever.
And this little bottle of 1.75oz or 49gm lasted me 1 1/2 years! It only cost USD$4.

I was surprised when I opened the box. They wrapped my stuff in this zebra pattern paper. It’s SO CUTE. I love it.

Amazon.com should learn how to protect items from MakeUpMania! It had 2 bubble pockets so double protection, PLUS they wrapped my powder bottle with bubble wrap so A+ on protection.

Yay finally have my face powder. I’ve been worried that I couldn’t buy one in time before mine runs out. I also ordered 24 pieces sponge wedges. It’s hard to find this wedge here. All local supermarkets and even beauty stores would carry the normal square sponge. This one has soft texture too. Love it. Both arrived in perfect condition. Overall I’m very happy with MakeUpMania and my order. Will definitely order again from them provided that they’re still in business.
An Interesting Lucky Draw Win
0I won a lucky draw but it’s an interesting one!
You see, when I filled up petrol for my car at a nearby Petronas station, this very friendly attendant helped me out by filling it out for me and teaching me how to use the card to pay for it (I usually would ask them to do it). After talking he told me they’re having a lucky draw and since I filled up full tank, I was eligible to get two stamps. I’d need 3 stamps to enter. It was not until the 2nd last day before I submitted. By that time, the box was so full that I had a hard time pushing my lucky draw paper in.. I think there must’ve been thousands of entries in there.
Boy was I surprised when I got a call last Saturday saying that I’m a lucky winner. They picked 42 winners from the box, and they will do an event where they’ll draw names to determine which prize we will win. All I wanted was the free food, haha.
The ceremony started at 11 am at the Petronas station, just outside of its mini mart. I was surprised when I reached there.

I didn’t realize when I entered (because I didn’t think I’d win anyway) that all prizes were TOYS. Hahahaha. TOYS! For babies and toddlers! OMG. I was like WTF.
They started the lucky draw and I was praying I don’t win the shitty prizes like tiny school bags meant for toddlers. They were a lot of school bags as the bottom prizes. I was eyeing on the hello kitty or at least that Tiger plushie… at least they’re cute and I can use it. Unfortunately I didn’t get the plushies! I was soooo close though! I had the 16th prize and the hello kitty was for 13th place and Tiger was for 10th. I also wouldn’t mind the 3rd prize which was a remote controller dinosaur figure. OR THE BARBIES! Well not really barbies.. all of the prizes were all cheap China knockoffs. The first prize was an imitation of Transformers robot. Or even the keyboard would’ve been useful and not so embarrassing.

Here are some of the top 10 winners. See that McDonald’s behind there? The exact location where I had an accident. Urgh. Hurt to see it.

Many left early and didn’t even eat the food.. so more for me!

But a lot of people attended.

The best highlight was definitely the food! I’m not a fan of fried noodle but seriously, it was the best and the most damn delicious fried noodle I’ve ever tasted. So yummy that I had 1 1/2 plate, and took home a plate full because they were so much leftover. The ‘kuih’ (or snacks) were delicious too! Too bad they just served plain water because it was a hot day, so I was very thirsty. Wish there was cold drink.

DELICIOUS!
Then I went home and opened the prize.

Here’s what I won. A cheap china-made playhouse meant for babies.. Hahahahaha. It was quite embarrassing to win this.. and it’s very useless since I don’t even have a baby. Don’t know anyone with babies either. But you know what?

It’s actually very cute! It’s like a cute tent that even I can hide in. Haha. I decided to see if my cats would like this as their playhouse and you know what?

They do! A LOT. They wouldn’t stop playing with it and playing inside it. It’s like their little hideout. My 3 outdoor cats are the ones that loves it so much. They like to play and wrestle in it. But Orenji loves it the most. He sleeps in it. He’s practically in the tent everytime he’s inside the house.

Well that’s the end of my interesting lucky draw ever. I had another lucky draw that I won last year that I have yet to write about. I’ll try to find some time to write it. I feel kinda cold now.. would be nice to have a heated blanket. Toodles.
Scott Pilgrim vs The World!
0I love this movie!
One of the underrated films that should’ve gotten a major box office. Superb effects, great and hilarious comical values/parody, great lines.. great fight scenes.. oh and AWESOME MUSIC. What you hear in the video above has the bass music from the bass battle between Scott Pilgrim and the 3rd evil ex.If you’re into bass playing, you might want to check out tacoma thunderchief electric bass.
Another song that I love the most is the one performed by ‘The Clash At Demonhead’, called ‘Black Sheep‘. Song originally sung by Metric.
Fucking love this song. Too bad I can’t post the full music video because all of them had embed disabled. This song makes me go totally bisexual. Hot singer and hot bass player. Oh yeah. Eye candy.
Filesonic & Fileserve ‘Committed Suicide’ By Disabling Filesharing. RIP.
0I guess we all saw this coming.
Majority of file sharing sites, including one of the most popular ones which are filesonic & fileserve finally ‘committed suicide‘ in fear of the megaupload case.

Basically filesonic has disabled filesharing function, which is the main function of the whole site. Majority of the users used it for filesharing, doesn’t matter for piracy or legal use. I was hoping this site would stay alive but unfortunately they were chickens. It’s the site I paid monthly to. Yes I had the premium account. Glad I found out before my paypal automatically renews the payment on the same day so I had the chance to cancel. Oh well, it was nice knowing you filesonic. Thank you for all the downloads.
Fileserve also disabled its filesharing function. I heard some others committed suicide too, like one site banned paid users or something.. technically all these sites committed mass suicide. At least, unlike megaupload, they didn’t disable personal upload so if you had uploaded the files, you could still retrieve them and still use them for personal use. I don’t know who would.

It sucks majorly because I used these sites a lot because download from file sharing sites utilizes my connection speed to the maximum . Looks like I have to find an alternative now. But I heard megaupload is coming back. However, anonymous are still taking down websites.. hope they’ll keep going until the retards would come to their senses and stop wanting to censor internet…
…. wishful thinking.
My blackberry phone is giving problems now. I want a blackberry tablet.
