UPDATE: Read PART 2!
I have finally made posting blog much more easier now so expect old posts that I’ve been delaying coming up soon. More on this soon but right now I wanna talk about an event we had for the past 1 week here in Ipoh.
It is called “Minggu Saham Amanah Malaysia (MSAM) 2011” that was held at Kompleks Sukan Majlis Bandaraya Ipoh (MBI) from 20th April until 26th April 2011. In English, it’s an event involving stocks, mutual funds and everything relating to investments. The event was organized by “Permodalan Nasional Berhad’ or PNB. PNB is one of Malaysia’s leading asset managers.
This event was huge. It’s unfortunate that it lasted for only a week. I noticed they built the tent thing for more than 2 weeks… all that hard work for only a week’s worth of event. Wow. But it’s not all just about banks, investments and asset management. There were other exhibitors too including cars, government bodies, and other companies, even food.
This is PART 1. PART 2 will be up tomorrow I hope.
Be warned: PICTURE HEAVY!
I went with mom on Monday night at 8.30 pm on the 25th.
IT WAS CROWDED!
This is just the entrance.. it goes around the building so it’s quite a long journey towards the exit and you can’t exit anywhere else!
The banner at the entrance door.
You need to queue up to register!
You will get a special book for kids under 17 where you have to get stamps from each booths and a contest form for adults where you have to find and answer a lot of questions in order to win prizes and also get some merchandise at the end of the tour. The queues were ridiculous! Luckily I was with my mom so we could go to the fast queue lane for old people.
IT WAS HARD. My mom and I couldn’t be bothered to find the answers. The crowd also killed my mood. Besides, it was quite late already. What a waste though.
Perodua’s built information. Perodua is one of Malaysia’s leading compact cars manufacturer.
This feels quite futuristic because the girl is actually a projection.. instead of the traditional square type of projector, it’s a shape of the girl herself. This would’ve been so cool IF the image of the girl wasn’t extremely LOW QUALITY. It’s like try to imagine sizing up a mobile phone video (the 3GP video) sized up to normal human size.. oh the horror of pixelated & grainy images.
Etiqa Takaful – insurance and investment. Very crowded. I wanted to take a picture of the clown!
The Maybank girl asked me to sign up for their credit card because in return I’d get a mug so I did, haha. And I also got the chance to go into the booth in picture above to play ‘cash twister’ where you try to catch the flying papers.. they give you instant cash on the spot. I won RM2 bucks hahahahaha. IT WAS HARD TO CATCH THE PAPERS OKAY! And I was given like 5 seconds only. I used that RM2 bucks to buy ice cream haha.
Ford Fiesta! It’s actually a nice card but don’t like the interior design. Too rough for me.
SIME DARBY’S PRODUCTS! I bought 3 boxes of mixed guava juice for only RM13.50 which is quite cheap price and I received a free tumbler/glass and a bottle of curry paste 😀 Sorry I didn’t take a picture of it.
Toyota Vios TRD Sportiva. I actually like the exterior but hate the interior.
The coolest part! A concept car showcase from Perodua. It actually looks awesome for a Perodua car! Very futuristic looking… they said it’ll come out next year but I don’t know. It’s called ‘BEZZA‘… if in Malay, the word ‘Beza’ means difference.
Takaful Ikhlas insurance. Very crowded at this time!
I thought this is a cute image of the Petronas Twin Tower 😀
They had some quiz or contest for the kids at the end of the tour. This is the last part where those who wanted to answer the contest had to answer the last question on the computer.
I went back after at 10 pm. Most of the booths have closed at that time anyway. I wanted to do some investment so I decided to come back the next day. Stay tuned for PART 2!
