Last month I wrote a post regarding anti-Malaysia activists in Indonesia called ‘BENDERA‘ who protested against a lot of things on Malaysia.. and which incidentally included the one case of an Indonesian maid abuse that occurred last month.

I want to clear up some confusions, including for those anti-Malaysia activists in Indonesia.

low class fuckers

If you think Malaysia is a country that loves to abuse domestic servants, you’re DEAD WRONG. Sure, there are a few family or person that are sick enough to do such brutality, but is it fair to get the impression that ALL MALAYSIANS are abusers?

If so, as someone corrected me, not thousands but MILLIONS of Indonesians living here would then be abused too but are they? So just because one or two cases of maid abuse, or something relating to Indonesian, does that mean it happens to the rest of them too? Oh so we are barbaric now? If so, then why are they STILL here? You want to know what they think?? Do they think we are barbaric?

CAMERON HIGHLANDS: A group of Indonesian workers here have denounced anti-Malaysia activists in their homeland for attempting to disrupt the peace in the country which provides their bread and butter.

Holding placards that say they want peace, the group of about 50 men and women gathered at the Tanah Rata bus terminal at noon for about 20 minutes yesterday to voice their concern about the strained relations between Malaysia and Indonesia.

“We hope Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak and President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono could reach a solution to bring peace again between the two countries,” said their spokesman Mbah Mad.

“We just want to live peacefully here and do not want to see two ‘brothers’ fighting,” he said, adding that he was speaking for about 2,000 Indonesians working here.

Most of them are labourers, farm workers and restaurant helpers.

Mbah Mad said there have not been any abuse case against Indonesians here. The group carried a banner calling Bendera (the so-called People’s Bastion for Democracy) to stop disrupting the peace in Malaysia, referring to recent protests outside the Malaysian Embassy in Jakarta which saw activists shouting Ganyang Malaysia (Crush Malaysia) as well as burning the Jalur Gemilang and threatening to harm Malaysians.

Such demonstrations had been sporadically held before but increased after three Indonesian maritime officers were detained by Malaysian authorities in August.

Reacting to Bendera’s actions, Mbah Mad said: “We are happy here in Malaysia.

“Who is going to look after us when we are not guaranteed jobs back home?”

What? What’s that?

Damn right. It sounds like the Indonesians living in MALAYSIA, are protesting against their own countrymen. So if we are that barbaric, as BENDERA claims, then why are they protesting against you lot? Let me answer you…

Because they’re fucking HAPPY here.

Even though Indonesia is a huge country, majority of them live in poverty. They come to Malaysia for a source of income. Because of Malaysia, they can go back to Indonesia rich, or at least provide their family with a lot of money. So for those fucking anti-Malaysia activists, take that and shove it up your ass. Apart from Indonesia, they’re a lot of workers from Nepal, Bangladesh, India etc that are HAPPY here. But true fact is, those workers from Nepal and Bangladesh are the nicest..and very soft spoken compared to some Indonesian workers. Why? Because Indonesian workers have BETTER job than fucking Malaysians. Yes, that’s right.

Wtf. A lot of Malaysians are jobless, yet majority of middle class jobs like secretary, office workers are taken by Indonesians, provided with luxury treatments (yes, I live in shitty apartment and they get CONDOMINIUM or landed house) and this is the ‘thanks’ we get? So wtf are you guys talking about? What abuse? I cannot stress enough how insulted I feel as Malaysian on the act of anti-Malaysia activists before or anyone who thinks we are ‘abusers’.

Then I guess if a few cases are enough to give impressions that Malaysians are abusers or bad, then I guess it’s the same for EVERY countries in the world. Indonesia is bad, UK is bad, America is bad, Australia is bad, Japan is bad, the whole world is bad. Tell me a country that has absolutely ZERO crime for the last decade…

Still not convinced?

KUANTAN: Some 200 Indonesian workers gathered at Taman Kerang in Jalan Mahkota here yesterday to show their support for the good ties between Malaysia and Indonesia.

Some carried banners and placards with words such as Kami Hidup Aman di Sini. Kami Sokong Najib and SBY (We are living peacefully here. We support Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak and Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono); Bendera Jangan Ganggu Kami (Bendera, don’t disturb us) and Malaysia, Indonesia kakak beradik (Malaysia and Indonesia are siblings).

One of the demonstrators, Saroni Usairi, 48, said the Benteng Demokrasi Rakyat, or the People’s Defence of Democracy (Bendera), should stop tarnishing the good relationship between both countries.

He said the warm relationship between the two countries must be maintained.

Saroni, who has been a plantation worker in Malaysia for the past 18 years, said Bendera should stop its protests because “our future, our income, our livelihood here will be affected”.

STILL not convinced?

KUANTAN: About 500 Indonesian nationals in Kuantan and Temerloh held peaceful protests against their fellow countrymen, who call themselves Benteng Demokrasi Rakyat (Bendera), for staging a series of anti-Malaysia demonstrations in Jakarta following border incident near Bintan Island on Aug 13.

Kuantan police chief ACP Mohd Jasmani Yusoff said about 300 Indonesian nationals in Kuantan gathered in Taman Kerang from 11.30am on Friday for about 20 minutes before they were dispersed by the police.

“They just wanted to voice their opinions on the actions taken by their fellow countrymen in Indonesia and they have the right to do so,” he told reporters here Friday.

Meanwhile, Temerloh deputy police chief Supt Zundin Mahmood said another 200 Indonesian workers in Temerloh also gathered at the Lurah Semantan bus terminal in protest of Bendera’s actions.

He said the peaceful protest started at 11am and lasted for about 20 minutes. – Bernama

Oh yes, we are definitely barbaric alright.

Oh yeah, to comment a bit on domestic servant. For those who don’t know how the process of applying for one through the government works, let me tell you.

1. Make Sure That You Fulfill The Necessary Requirements

- both parents must be working (if single parent, he or she must be working also)
- have children below the age of fifteen years (if to take care of your ill parents, you need a doctor’s letter)
- combined income of more than RM3000 (USD$1000) if applying for Indonesian maids; more than RM5000 (USD$1600) if applying for Filipino/Sri Lankan maids

This one from a maid agency:

The potential employer and his/her spouse must earn a total combined income of RM 36,000.00 (USD$12k) (to qualify as employers for Cambodian, Indonesian or Vietnamese domestic helpers or maids) or RM 60,000.00 (USD$20k) (to qualify as employers for Filipino domestic helpers or maids)

Not every households can get a maid here. You have to go through rigorous process to qualify for a maid unless you took illegal immigrants from illegal, non established agent. Your family needs to be well -off financially (in another word, RICH) with income not less than a few thousands ringgit a month, have a valid reason as to why you want a maid (stressing on taking care of old folks or babies/children), and be prepared to fill up bazillion forms, prepare bazillion documents, take care of whatever procedures the maid needs to get done in her country and be prepared to spend thousands of ringgit for all of her expenses to come here.

Note: Consider RM1000 as USD$1000. You cannot compare after using currency exchange because the value to us would be different.

Example: Current currency exchange is roughly RM3000 = USD$1000. Now, if we consider the value of USD$1000 = RM1000, that amount is the monthly income of a janitor/Indonesian cleaner/grass cutter. Basic maid income starts at RM350-450 but majority of Indonesians earn RM900-Rm1500 now. See how high Indonesians are earning now?? Even fresh local degree holder would start out RM1200-ish here depending on job. Geez. So if you consider RM3000 = USD$3000, then that’s more like an income for a high class job or a very good job… or if you’ve been promoted.

Also as part of the rules, NO, we cannot simply fire the maid, or exchange them. Doing so would require a new rigorous process of re-applying plus spending a lot more money. So for those who think it’s so easy to apply, exchange or fire them if you don’t like them, or for little mistakes they do, you’re DEAD WRONG. Hence why whatever fucked up shits my 3 ex maids did to us, we couldn’t fire them as they were still under contract! So if only rich families can apply for maids, with valid reason, how can some of them be so brutal as to abuse them? Because some rich people tend to feel superior than any other human beings, that’s why.

PS: No my family isn’t rich FYI. We took the maids under my aunt and aunty’s names & combined income because my mom could never qualify. Yes, they’re the rich ones. We needed maid to take care of my sick grandma, and the 3rd maid for a sick aunt who died in less than a month after we hired the maid. See why we couldn’t fire her? Because she was still under contract even though my aunt has passed away. My mom and uncles made a stupid decision to renew her contract so she could take care of my then sick uncle (who is also deceased now) and cousin with slight mental problem thus giving her a chance to manipulate our families, and then fuck us all up because she used black magic. (True story).

Here’s a post from someone explaining in details on the procedure of applying for maids in Malaysia if you think it’s so easy to just exchange or fire them if you don’t like them.
