Since my last post of Dermlaze and my treatment there, I’ve gotten quite a lot of questions from my visitors about the place.

My July 2008 Blog Post on Dermlaze
My August 2008 Blog Post on My First Fraxel Treatment

It’s been more than a year since I last went for treatment at Dermlaze. My final year was hectic, and I had absolutely no time to go for treatment. Plus I was too busy with assignments that required me to shoot outdoor all the time so doing laser treatment is not a good idea. However, after my graduation showcase, due to extreme stress we had to endure with our final semester, when it’s done, I slowly had a breakout. Small at first, but then it became huge and bad. After 2 months, now I’m left with bad spots/scarring so I need help immediately while I still have to complete one elective subject.

My biggest mistake was not getting any treatment before it became bad. I’ve had 2 dermatologists before, and seriously, neither seemed as friendly as Dr. Jeswender. I didn’t have good treatment either. Of course my 2nd one (a dermatologist from Gleneagles Intan) left me with very, very, bad scarring. Not only that, he wasn’t friendly at all. So anyways, I went there on Tuesday to ask him what I should do. Back to fraxel laser. So I made an appointment for Wednesday morning.

The next morning, my stupid elevator was scaring me with some sound. Mind you, the day before 2 elevators were stuck on 4th floor.. one of them with people stuck in them. That was so scary. I ended up walking up the stairs to 13th floor. :( So I was quite late for appointment. Well, there’s a new assistant there. So as usual I was given painkillers, then I was put on some topical medication on my face, and some numbing cream. I miss the smell of numbing cream at Gleneagles hospital though. It got me high haha. So I rested for I think about 30 minutes or so? Until the numbing cream sets in and my face is numb. So I watched some youtube on my phone lol. I was getting really comfortable.

THE FRACTIONAL (FRAXEL) LASER

It’s always interesting to go for treatment. Maybe I have a secret addiction or hidden liking to getting laser treatment lol So I was brought to a different room to do my treatment. However it wasn’t Dr. Jes, but the assistant who’s doing the treatment. One thing about fraxel is that it doesn’t hurt as much as pixel, doesn’t look as bad as pixel, and skin isn’t burnt badly as pixel would. It just feels like hundreds of tiny pin pricks, poking your skin at the same time. It’s not bad. But then for some deep scars, the used different setting and yowza! It was just a split second for each deep scar but it felt like someone was pulling the elastic band/rubber band at your face real hard.. so each time was really painful, for a short while only though. After that they put some huge ice pack on my face.. ahhh. Cool down time before 2nd round.. then it’s the same process again. Then put some cream then I’m done.

Again, I really love fraxel because it doesn’t hurt that much compared to pixel that I’ve done before, and it doesn’t burn the skin badly. Usually before I’d have really black skin, sometimes bloody after the pixel laser treatment and God knows how much it hurts, throbs and burns after… it was torture. But with fraxel, it shows nothing except a bit of redness, some large opened pores (haha) and that’s it. I got my medicine, plus some extra medicine.. Neostrata product! I love neostrata product. And thank God they sell it, because I’ve been searching it everywhere.. it’s only sold at skin clinic. I’ve yet to get my Neostrata toner that I’ve been searching for ages though.. not enough money. Plus I want to get some slimming pills.. it’s hard for me to follow diets that work so I need some help. I also bought an expensive sun block lol..

Anyways. That’s my treatment story after 1 year break. It’s been 3 days and goooooosh my face is so itchy right now.. my eyes and my nose are peeling, and stinging and I have no idea why. lol. I’m healing okay. Can’t see much improvement now since it’s my “first” treatment. Need a lot more to see the result. Anyways, if you want to check out the place, here’s the address:
